The Future of Hashtag Politics,g. Here we are looking for signs of inflated expectations or disillusionment, or in case of the latter, overloaded and nebulous concepts. Meaning is carried over from one policy idea to the next, but ultimately, in its entirety, a policy idea is officially dead when its name is no longer mentioned, when the circus moves on.

Social Media and Policy Practices,-reviewed research. The chapter draws on a comprehensive review of published research to better understand how policy actors are engaging with social media. It illustrates emerging social media practices with a case study of a policy implemented in 2012 in England and Wales, to replace local appointed police authorities with directly elected PCCs.
