描述.This book examines the integration experiences of refugees to Sweden from Bosnia and Herzegovina (1992-1995), and more recently from Syria (2014-2018) - two of the largest-scale refugee movements in Europe for the last thirty years...It focuses on refugees’ interactions with key institutions of integration including language training, civic orientation, validation of previous educational experience, organizations and multiple labour market initiatives targeting refugees. Introduction: Conceptualizing Migrant and Refugee Integration,gs of ‘integration’ and the conceptual frameworks that underlie these. We argue that mainstream research on migrant integration can be criticized for failing to acknowledge the subjective nature of the integration process and for being insensitive to the views and opinions of refugees.

Two Waves of Refugee Reception: Bosnian and Herzegovinians in the 1990s, Syrians in the 2010s, and some of the key research in the field having to do with the respective cases, detailing the more thoroughly developed coverage of the BiH case and how this has evolved. By contrast, the research having to do with Syrian refugees to Sweden is quite sparse, given the real-time nature of events.

The Voices of Refugees as a Method,rratives, individual semi-structured interviews, and group interviews. Finally, we call attention to how our data results from multiple smaller projects, highlighting potential concerns, yet emphasizing how this data is still fit for purpose.
