Modification of the ILU-Method for Enhanced Parallel Efficiency, shown to enable both vectorization and a coarser granularity of parallelism. Experimental results demonstrate both the numerical behaviour of the schemes and the improvements in efficiency obtained on two DMMP parallel computers.

Relaxed ILU Preconditioning for the CG Solution of a Singular Boundary Value Problem for Pressure,this problem, producing a linear system of equations whose coefficient matrix is symmetric positive semidefinite. We give an account of our experience with solving this system by the conjugate gradient method with relaxed ILU preconditioning. Particular attention is given to the effect of the nonuniformity of the grid.

Preconditioning of Blockstructured Linear Systems with Block ILU on Parallel Computers,lved on a parallel computer. The partitioning is based on low rank modifications which generalize the approaches used in Divide and Conquer methods. The effect of these preconditioners are demonstrated for two model problems.

ILU as a solver in a parallel multi-grid flow prediction code,ce of the ILU approach is investigated. The studies include comparisons with preconditioned conjugate gradient methods as well as investigations concerning the influence of flow properties and algorithm parameters on the convergence behaviour of the methods.

Incomplete Factorizations with S/P and Modified S/P Consistently Ordered M-Factors,ete factorizations with (M-matrix) triangular factors whose graphs are S/P consistently ordered have attractive properties which have been analysed. The conclusion of our analysis is that in such cases, the submatrix determined by the nodes without successors should be factored exactly.
