In Situ Generated Catalyst-Coated Colloidal Semiconductor CdS Particles in Surfactant Vesicles and ficiency was found to depend on both the type of vesicle and sacrificial electron donor. 10% formal quantum yield at 400 ni was achieved with cationic — vesicle- stabilized, Rh-coated CdS in the presence of 1% benzylalcohol. Pronounced quantum size effects were observed by varying concentration and degree of reaction of the Cd. precursors.

On the Nature of the Inhibition of Electron Transfer at Illuminated P-Type Semiconductor ElectrodesnP which exhibit quite different behavior with respect to the inhibition of the cathodic photocurrents. The nature of the inhibition is discussed in terms of two different models, in one case an efficient back reaction via the valence band (recombination shunt in the electrolyte), in the other strong recombination via surface states is assumed.
