Eley-Rideal Dynamics of the Reaction of Gas-Phase H(D) with D(H) on Cu(111)nal HD product state distributions are presented. The pronounced isotope effects on the vibrational state distribution are shown to have a simple dynamical origin. Our predictions for these product distributions are in semi-quantative agreement with experiments, whereas the calculated and measured reactive cross section disagree.

Lifetime of the Intermediate Excited State in Laser-Induced Desorption of NO from Ptmediate excited state can be estimated to be ~10 fs from the gradient and the onset of the linear relation, respectively, although some ambiguity remains in the estimation of angular frequency for frustrated rotation of adsorbed NO at the intermediate excited state.

Dynamics and Energy Transfer in Scattering of Xe, O2 and Cl2 from Graphite Surfacey and angle of the incident beam as well as substrate temperature. Inelasticity and the degree of the energy transfer are discussed in light of the interaction potential and dynamics of the atoms and molecules involved.
