China Becomes Committed to The Palestine QuestionOn returning to the Middle East in 1964, China made strenuous efforts to mobilize Arab support “from above” for a “second Bandung conference” which would exclude the Soviet Union.

Heightened Chinese Interest in the Fidā’iyyūn (Summer–Fall 1970)In the Summer of 1970, China turned more of its attention towards the fidā’iyyūn movement, doubtless because of the latter’s insistence on fighting the Jordanian government to retain its power in Jordan and its resisting American peace plans for the settlement of the Middle East crisis.
