It is wellknown that the mathematical modeling of various real-worlddecision-making situations gives rise to combinatorial optimizationproblems. For situations where more than one decision-maker isinvolved classical combinatorial optimization theory does not sufficeand it is here that cooperative game theory can make an importantcontribution. If a group of decision-makers decide to undertake aproject together in order to increase the total revenue or decreasethe total costs, they face two problems. The first one is how toexecute the project in an optimal way so as to increase revenue. Thesecond one is how to divide the revenue attained among theparticipants. It is with this second problem that cooperative gametheory can help.
