GNSS – Global Navigation Satellite Systemsral and take advantage of the Lewis acidity of Au complexes. The reactivity of [Au(I)] and [Au(III)] in C–H activation of heteroaromatics is also discussed, and examples where this mode of reactivity has been used in oxidative couplings as well as redox-neutral reactions for the functionalisation of heteroarene C–H bonds are presented.
