Leguminous Crops 1: Internal Feeders, crops by several different species considered here. Others occur regularly on cultivated leguminous crops without normally having any significant effect on yields, but even these species deserve attention, as with periodical build-ups in population levels local infestations may from time to time prove to be severe.

Leguminous Crops 2: Leaf-Miners, the internal feeders considered in the previous chapter, are treated systematically, rather than by crops. All belong to the four genera: . and .. Fourteen species are discussed in detail and brief reference is made to three others about which little information is available.

Miscellaneous Crops 1: Internal Feeders, fore are referred to only briefly. All species apart from . and . are restricted in their choice of host to a single genus. . feeds on both Compositae and Umbelliferae, while a . sp. found damaging stems of . L. in Iraq proved to represent . Spencer, described earlier in Chapter 3, with . L. probably as its main host.

A New Genus Embracing Leaf-Miners on Tea, Coffee and Other Crops Based in the Old World Tropics ande genus .. However, . species are robust and frequently large, and are feeders in stems, roots or seed-heads; the male genitalia and larval spiracles are characteristic and the genus was re-defined when the palaearctic species were revised by . (1966b). A new genus is therefore now proposed for this tropical and sub-tropical group of leaf-miners.

Stem-Borers, Gall-Causers and Leaf-Miners on Trees, few species in the genera . and . feed on trees as leaf-miners but damage to the leaves is slight and the effect on the growth of the trees must be insignificant. Five species in the genus . Enderlein feeding as gall-causers are also briefly discussed.
