Key Terms in Research on Early Foreign Language Learning,these two situations are, by definition, very different in terms of input and underlying learning processes. In this chapter we define the key concepts and notions and discuss the empirical challenges of the various types of studies.

Does ‘Information Systems’ Need Systems?nvestigating the effects of age of onset on foreign language learning in the classroom. We also present the principal results regarding attitude, motivation, and strategies. We then compile in a summary table the different studies to provide a snapshot of the entire range.
