Welding Metallurgy of Austenitic-Ferritic Dissimilar Joints,often a final tempering or stress relieving heat treatment. Austenitic steels on the other hand should be welded “cold”, the welds should cool rapidly and post weld heat treatments should be avoided wherever possible.
