Synthesis of Organosilicon Reagents of Vinylsilicon Functionality via Cross-Metathesis and Silylatitly stereo- and/or regio-selective reactions occur in the presence of ruthenium, rhodium and iridium complexes containing or generating the M-H and/or M-Si bonds (the silylative coupling (.)) and, in the presence of Grubbs complexes, in the case of trialkoxy- and trisiloxysubstituents at silicon (the cross-metathesis (.)).

Ruthenium Carbenes as Catalysts for Alkene Metathesis,. generated catalysts readily prepared from easily available reagents: a ruthenium complex, an imidazolium salt and a base promote alkene and enyne metathesis. A two-component system for the polymerization of norbornene and cyclooctene is also presented.

O,N- Bidentate Ligands Co-Ordinated on Ru-Based Olefin Metathesis Catalysts,um arene complexes has been tested on their ROMP and RCM behaviour. The obtained results suggest that the catalytic activity strongly depends on the steric and electronic environment of the Schiff Base. The different behaviour of the Schiff Base Ruthenium carbenes for ROMP and RCM has been explained.

Synthesis of Block Copolymers and Star Polymers through Living Polymerization of Substituted Acetylhe initiation reaction is faster than propagation and the propagating species is stable. Therefore, the initiating species that have structures similar to the propagating species are preferred. Living polymerization enables the synthesis of well-defined polymers such as block copolymers, end-functionalized polymers, and star polymers.
