On the Radial Distribution of Gamma Rays in the Outer Galaxyolar circle. We use the observation that a good correlation exists between gamma-ray intensities and total column densities of the local interstellar gas and that the fractional column density of H.≲0.1 HI outside the solar circle. Recent 21CM Surveys of the Southern Milky Way and the Distribution of HI Beyond the Solar Circled the galactic plane. The most clearcut results are for the outer Galaxy, where the Parkes 18m and Hat Creek 26m surveys have been used to study the distribution of HI based on a circular rotation model.
