The swelling of lamellar phases in oil: The role of double layer interactions,al. might be explained in terms of this double layer repulsion. It is also concluded that this type of double layer forces can be of important for the stability of microemulsions and water in oil emulsions.

Surface grafting of polyethyleneoxide optimized by means of ESCA,n a PEO surface characterized by a maximal ESCA — C-O-/-CH.-ratio and, simultaneously, complete wetting by water. A PEO surface with a high degree of coverage was also obtained by means of adsorption from solution of a PEO-amine compound on mica.
