From Biosensors to Biosensing Systems,osensor and non-biosensor based, for biosensing applications. A brief introduction to the analytical methods available for adaptation to bioanalytical μTAS is included in this review. Finally, the potential of μTAS to combine the best aspects of both stand-alone biosensors and benchtop biosensing systems will be discussed.

Measurements on Single DNA Molecules,s. We will describe three of these methods and there application to DNA research: flow analysis of individual molecules, measuring mechanical forces of bio-molecules using optical tweezers and using an AFM to study the dynamics of DNA and DNA protein interactions.

Covalent Coupling of Polyamines to Aminobead-Covered ISFETs,with a .of latex beads followed by the .coupling of (poly)amines to these beads. The resulting ISFET devices could be used for detection of heparin in the concentration range of 0.025–0.75 U/ml. Considerable differences were found concerning the sensitivity of heparin detection when employing different types of polyamine ligands.

Adaptive Optical System Based on a Micromachined Adaptive Mirror,nsists of a beam quality sensor-in our case a brightness sensor placed in the focus of a positive lens-and electronics which includes a single 12-bit ADC to input the quality parameter into the control computer and a 37-channel high-voltage 8-bit DAC to control the shape of the mirror.
