Comparison of Iodine-123 Labelled Nor-β-CIT and β-CIT as Potential Radioligands for Serotonin Transpe of tracer in the brain (6 %/ID at 30 min). Highest uptake was observed in the striatum, the thalamus and in the mid-brain. The specific binding of [.I]nor-βCIT in the mid-brain was 20 % higher than that of [.I]β-CIT. The high radioactivity in the mid-brain is assumed to represent the accumulation of [.I]nor-β-CIT in the serotonin transporter.
