The Search for the Magnetic Monopolegle North or South magnetic poles, something which had never been observed. Dirac’s theory also predicted the strength of such a magnetic pole. In 1982 Blas Cabrera reported an event which fit Dirac’s prediction very well. Yet Cabrera made no discovery claim nor was Dirac’s theory regarded as confirmed. The reasons for this are discussed.
