,Syamadas Mukhopadhyay (1866–1937),Syamadas Mukhopadhyay (S. D. Mukhopadhyay) was born at Haripal in the Hooghly district of West Bengal on 22 June 1866. His father Babu Ganga Kanta Mukhopadhyay being in the state judicial service had different places of posting, and as a consequence Syamadas had to study in different institutions at different times.

,Manindra Chandra Chaki (1913–2007),Manindra Chandra Chaki (M. C. Chaki) was born on the 1st July 1913, at the village Deuli of Bagura district in erstwhile East Bengal (present-day Bangladesh). His father Keshab Chandra Chaki was a landlord and mother Kunjakamini Debi a pious and kind-hearted housewife. M. C. Chaki had his school education in East Bengal.

,Subodh Kumar Chakrabarty (1909–1987),abarty at an early age of six, he was brought up by his mother Sarala Devi. He completed his early education in East Bengal. He passed his Matriculation Examination in 1925 and the Intermediate Examination in Science (ISc.) in 1927.
