The Impact of New Conventional Weapons Technology on NATO Military Doctrine and Organization,evious efforts to come to grips with the matter have failed: studies have either stopped at the point where the impact on organization and structure was raised or, if they dealt with the problems of force structure, they did not take the new technology into account. This chapter suggests some directions for further examination.

New Weapons Technologies and East-West Security in the 1980s,Many technologies of military relevance are changing; and they interact in complex ways. Undoubtedly some will play a decisive role in future wars, but which? We can make a few predictions with confidence, more which are only inferences, and still more which are mere conjecture.
