Primary production and respiration of the phytoplankton in the Blue and White Niles at Khartoum0.41 gCm.d. (0.09 mgO.l.h.) in May to 3.74 gCm.d. (0.83 mgO.l.h.) in November. Observations on the effect of the weevils , Warner and , Hustache on the growth of water hyacinth hyacinth plants for a period of 61 days (one generation period) reduced their population growth by 25.4% and 12.7% respectively.
