Distinguishing Presupposition in Epistemology,tter of drawing the assumption from the given belief by necessity. Accordingly, I shall term presupposition to be a species (or “mode”) of hypothetic inference. in that assumption is hypothetically asserted to be a logical condition for the given belief.
