Problems in Standardization of 252Cf Fission Fragment Induced Desorption Mass Spectrometryboratories. Before applying a new analytical technique for quantitative measurements one should investigate the sensitivity and reproducibility of the given equipment . Besides standardization of this time-of-flight mass spectrometry is discussed.

Design and Performance of a New Time-of-Flight Instrument for SIMSesult in a probability of some percent for a surface molecule to be transformed into a parent-like secondary ion during sputtering. A considerable decrease of this probability is expected for larger molecules.

Mass Spectrometry of Secondary Ions: Polymers, Plasticizers and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons primarily for the study of nonvolatile and thermally labile compounds.
