Sequential DecodingSequential decoding, proposed by Wozencraft , was the first practical technique for decoding convolutional codes. A series of versions of sequential decoding were proposed subsequently: one by Fano , called the Fano algorithm, and another independently by Zigangirov and Jelinek , called the ZJ or the stack algorithm.
