Dynamics of Globally Coupled Noisy Excitable Elements: The Fitzhugh-Nagumo Casenal driving force leads to a classical resonance when its frequency matches the underlying systems frequency. This resonance is also investigated analytically by exploiting the different timescales in the problem. Agreement between the analytical results and numerical results is excellent and reveals the existence of a stochastic bifurcation.

Multi-Scale Analysis of Noise-Sensitivity Near a Bifurcationned effects of the noise and the bifurcation amplify oscillations which would decay in the deterministic system. The derivation of reduced equations for the envelope of the oscillations provides an efficient analysis of the dynamics by separating the influence of the noise from the intrinsic oscillations over long time scales.
