GeoPlanet: Earth and Planetary Sciencesextended irreversible thermodynamics (EIT) are observable. The answer is affirmative: it is possible to obtain information on such effects either from experiments or numerical simulations. Computer simulations were analysed in Chap. 9; in this chapter, we discuss the experimental aspects.
