However, L-DABA is a weak inhibitor of GABA-aminotransferase (GABA-T) (Beart & Bilal, 1977) and there is still some doubt as to whether the anticonvulsant effects of L-DABA can be explained in terms of the inhibition of GABA uptake or metabolism or a combination of both.
