Econometric Analysis of Carbon Markets for the prevention and management of GMH/IVH. Appropriate animal models are necessary to achieve this understanding. Rodent models of GMH/IVH are economical, homogenous within a strain, and suitable for studying some long-term outcomes. This chapter reviews rodent models of GMH/IVH and their neurobehavioral outcomes.

Models of Perinatal Brain Injury in Premature and Term Newborns Resulting from Gestational Inflamma. 3) and the second one, the immediately postnatal exposure to inflammation induced by LPS and/or HI (Sect. 4). For each animal model, the rationale supporting the model is exposed, followed by the procedures and the results obtained, allowing experimenter to reproduce and use these presented animal models.

Studies of Perinatal Asphyxial Brain Injury in the Fetal Sheep, including the depth (“severity”), duration, and repetition of the insult, the maturity, and condition of the fetus. These models are valuable to dissect the pathogenesis of key clinical patterns of brain injury in a stable thermal and biochemical environment, and to test therapeutic interventions.

The Sheep as a Model of Brain Injury in the Premature Infant, sible in smaller laboratory animals. Despite the higher costs and technical challenges of instrumented preterm fetal sheep models, they allow an integrated analysis of the spectrum of insults that appear to contribute to cerebral injury in human preterm infants.
