Symmetry Properties of Rigid Molecules,-rotation spectra of highly symmetric molecules such as CH., SF., and CF. at very high resolution (~ 10. cm.) and a prerequisite for interpretation of the interesting features revealed by such measurements is a clear and detailed understanding of the assignment of symmetry labels to molecular states and tensor operators.

The ideas presented here are based upon some remarks of Louck and Louck and Galbraith , together with Judd’s double-tensor formalism . This approach has also recently been developed by Hilico et al. and by Pascaud .
