Policy Implications,workplace safety. The two pillars of job safety policy in the United States are the states’ workers’ compensation insurance systems (WC) and the federal government’ s Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSHA). Here we discuss recent changes in U.S. workplace safety policy and suggest cost effective reforms to OSHA and WC.
