Photographing the Moon and Planets,. You might manage a tolerable picture of the Moon; and the brighter planets are at least recognizable if the camera is pointed at a telescope eyepiece. Small Fry: Asteroids and Comets, ‘big four’ asteroids, Pallas, Vesta and Hygieia, have about a tenth the volume of Ceres . Between them they contain most of the mass in the Asteroid Belt. Amateurs can only hope to record asteroids as points on photographs. Comets require the techniques of deep space photography to capture them.
