The Monophyletic Plectomycetes: Ascosphaerales, Onygenales, Eurotialesophyletic clade, which has been named the Plectomycetes (Berbee and Taylor 1994). This chapter is about the fungi belonging to that clade, and the justification for this usage is discussed in detail in Section III. A list of recognized genera is given in Table 1.
