5 Microsporidiaibiting gene reduction and compaction, which also are signs of extreme parasite efficiency. This chapter highlights the unusual mechanism of infection and current classification of the microsporidia and describes the morphology, life cycle, and culture of microsporidia species of importance to arthropod, aquatic, and mammalian hosts.

8 Zygomycetous Fungi: Phylum Entomophthoromycota and Subphyla Kickxellomycotina, Mortierellomycotinas of several genes. The results of these analyses resulted in one phylum, Entomophthoromycota, and four subphyla (Kickxellomycotina, Mortierellomycotina, Mucoromycotina, Zoopagomycotina). The ordinal distribution in each supraordinal taxon and the maintenance and culture of these fungi are presented.
