Unangenehme Wahrheiten und andere Tabuseint ein gewisser Konsens darüber zu bestehen, dass man gewisse Dinge besser nicht anspricht und sich stattdessen in Zweckoptimismus und Durchhalteparolen (»Wir schaffen das!«) ergeht. Diesem für eine liberale Demokratie doch sehr erstaunlichen Phänomen wollen wir in diesem Kapitel versuchen auf den Grund zu gehen.
