Standards for Tagsetsy research groups taking different theoretical positions. In the interests of interchangeability and re-usability of annotated corpora, it is important to avoid a ‘free-for-all’, or a ‘reinvention of the wheel’ every time a new project begins. A possible strategy to accomplish this is to strive for some kind of standardization.
