Strategies of Phenotypic Plasticity of Germination: Dormancy After Seed Maturation,conditions are in a region, the greater is the number of plant species with dormant seeds (summarized by Baskin and Baskin 1998). In cold deserts, the seeds of almost all the plant species tested have been found to be dormant. In hot deserts, the seeds of about 80 % of the plant species are normally dormant.
