Preneoplastic Lesions and Polyps of the Gastrointestinal Tractmas arise from adenomatous polyps, many other polyps occur in the GI tract which pose no risk of malignant transformation. Conversely, the preneoplastic potential is demonstrated by non-polypoid/flat lesions including flat dysplasia, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)-associated dysplasia, and Barrett’s esophagus.
