The 4Es offer a different way of thinking about interaction, which is in no way intended to limit interaction to an essentialist model, on the contrary, the 4Es are to be used in the most dynamic way to better grasp the supercomplexity of interaction.

It is important to understand these systems and how they work as they are developed in detail in the subsequent chapters. This chapter ends with a section outlining how the term supercomplexity has been used in other work and how it is used in this book.

Supercomplexity in Interaction: The 4Es,s it is seen here. It puts forward a novel way to visualise interaction by presenting the 4Es of interaction, which are Expression, Encounter, Education and Emotion. The components of the sub-systems of interaction are also discussed and repackaged into sub-components of the 4Es model along with additional ones.
