Astoria Fan, Pacific Oceane outer-fan area where the sand/shale ratios are highest. This pattern of sand displacement and efficiency of transport appears to be characteristic of elongate fans fed by a major river and submarine canyon.

Delgada Fan, Pacific Oceantary channels and appears to illustrate a period of progressive valley abandonment. Although the lower-fan area is underlain by sandy sediments, little sand has been recovered in piston cores from the leveed- valley unit.

La Jolla Fan, Pacific Ocean Canyon-Fan form three-dimensional wedges that interfinger at their distal ends. La Jolla Fan system contains an interleaved set of sediment wedges derived from multiple sources, woven around the regional structural fabric of uplifts and basins.
