Numerical simulation of mixing layer vortices,nd the resulting flow is studied numerically. A spiral structure appears that grows linearly for large values of time. The growth rates obtained agree with the observed values for the experimental layers within 25%.

Model equation calculations of the turbulent flow between rotating cylinders and the structure of aorticity are anti-parallel or parallel.The Reynolds stresses predicted by the model are realizable. The equations are solved and results presented for turbulent flow between concentric rotating cylinders and the isolated turbulent line vortex. Comparison with experiment is generally favorable.

A modelling of large eddies in an axisymmetric jet,ood agreement with many experimentally observed flows. Harmonic excitation is applied to the model jet and the changes in frequency and amplitude cause distinct changes in the wavelengths of the jet eddies. This resulting large eddy behaviour is consistent with many features of the non-linear behaviour observed in forced jets.
