Division and differentiation during regeneration at the root apexIf cells are removed from a plant organ the remaining cells respond by forming a seal over the wound and in some cases can even regenerate the lost tissue. The cells involved in regeneration or repair first dedifferentiate their already established state and then redifferentiate along new developmental pathways .
