The Rollover Sequence of Events, Starting with Stratification,epends on equilibration of two variables, temperature and composition, at the same time. In other words, roll-over is a property of cryogenic liquid mixtures, not single component cryogenic liquids..Roll-over is not unique to cryogenics, since oceanographers have met it in stratified sea waters with different temperature and salt content.

Surface Evaporation of Cryogenic Liquids, Including LNG and LPG,ly influenced by mechanical and convectional disturbances. Rollover and other evaporation instabilities are a consequence..For LNG mixtures, the surface evaporation impedance of methane is much lower than for ethane, so the vapour has a higher methane content than predicted by standard (T–x) data.
