Papillary Diseases,on cells axons at the optic disc. The central pit of the disc is called optic cup (Fig. 5.1). The blood vessels run through the optic disc onto the retina. Müller cells and inner limiting membrane are absent around the optic disc, which cause obvious edema of the rim during papilloedema.
