Bone Marrow Stem Cell Therapies for Diabetes Mellitus and Its Complicationsnts. However, these therapies fail to maintain blood glucose levels in the normal range all the time. Pancreas or islet-cell transplantation achieves better glucose control and substantially improves the quality of life. In this chapter, we summarize stem cell therapies for type 1 and type 2 DM and diabetic complications.
