Power from Understanding the Shape of Measurement: Progress in Bayesian Inference for Astrophysics,astronomical data; i.e. the detection of periodicities in a Poisson point process. We develop a model called Sparse Bayes Blocks for this purpose. These methods are also effective for estimation of the pulsar period.
