Die Zelle als morphologisches System,usgebildet war, daß sie im Verlauf der Evolution nur noch wenig verbessert werden konnte. Die Evolution ist deshalb nicht in erster Linie eine Angelegenheit der Zelle; vielmehr kamen die Fortschritte der Evolution dadurch zustande, daß vielzellige Systeme mit Differenzierung und Arbeitsteilung entstanden.
