Alternate coordinate systems,Up until now we have generally worked in Cartesian coordinates to locate points in the plane. Our past experience with calculus has shown us, though, that Newton’s polar coordinate system can be more convenient for describing some curves or performing some integrations. This is all well and good if we’re dealing with circles or circular regions.
