IRAS Far-Infrared Observations of Interacting GalaxiesUsing the large IRAS database, we investigate the effect of interaction between galaxies on their far-infrared properties by comparing the infrared-to-blue luminosity ratios of optically selected samples of interacting and field galaxies, and by briefly discussing the results of additional mapping with IRAS of a few interacting galaxy pairs.
