In der Schule bei Simmelnach dem Weggang Nietzsches in ein „anmutiges Trio“ verwandelte, dem außer Lou v. Salomé und Paul Rée auch Ferdinand Tönnies angehörte, bis auch er dann ausschied. Ein (ehemaliger) Altphilologe löste gewissermaßen den anderen ab.
