The Effect of Inverse Micelles on the Inter- and Intramolecular Esterification Reactions of an ω-Hyd-cyclohexyl-3-(2-morpholinoethyl)carbodiimide metho-.-toluenesulfonate (ATos) and 1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethyl- carbodiimide hydrochloride (ACl), as esterification agents. Lactone was formed only with the combination of DDABr and ATos in the absence of water pools.

Non-Solubilization of Corn Oil in Aqueous Surfactant Solutions. However, it seems difficult to solubilize corn oil under the experimental conditions of the present study, though some degree of solubilization apparently did occur in two of the nonionic surfactant systems. Perhaps, the surfactants employed are not effective solubilizers of corn oil.

Control of Reactions in Extremely Restricted Environment Provided by Reversed Micelles work most of efforts have been directed to emphasize the rate enhancement of reactions as promoted by surfactants themselves, such as alkylammonium carboxylates, to play a role as a general acid-base or nucleophilic catalysis, in which the rate enhancement is brought about mainly by the proximity effect and polarity control.
