Light Scattering in the Martian Atmosphere: Effects on Surface Photometry,g effort.We illustrate this using data from the Imager for Mars Pathfinder. We show how the dust produces a diffuse, reddened illumination which alters the perceived colour of the surface. We then describe the means by which models can be constructed to study these effects.
